Anthony was homeless, transient and chaotic making it difficult for him to attend appointments so outreach support was provided. An Individual Treatment Plan was developed with Anthony’s goals being to reduce and ultimately abstain from heroin use and to secure housing.
With the support of Youth Projects, Anthony embarked on a detox program, a difficult process however one which he successfully completed.
For the first time in ten years Anthony stopped using heroin daily.
Youth Projects assisted Anthony by linking him with a pharmacotherapy program, taking him to the doctor and locating a chemist for treatment. On the pharmacotherapy program, Anthony’s life became less chaotic and he was able to re-establish contact with his brother and grandmother whom he had not seen for several years.
Anthony now resides with this brother and is continuing to build himself a positive future.
