Over the past few weeks of conferences and awards, Youth Projects are proud to recognise and celebrate the significant achievements of three passionate staff members!

Celeste Norris, Social Enterprise Leader, was recognised as a finalist for the National Game Changers Awards in the category of Business for Good Game Changer of the Year. And while she didn’t take home the top prize, being recognised as a leader and game changer in the social enterprise space is a victory in itself!

Marc Clemente, Youth Coach: Transition to Work, was honoured to receive the CoAct Steve Lawrence Employment Consultant of the Year Award, an award that acknowledges excellence in helping disadvantaged Australians to gain employment. Marc has been a Youth Coach with Youth Projects for two years, diving in headfirst with the Transition to Work program, servicing Melton and nearby communities. Despite being new to the sector, Marc has thrived, embracing roles like Community Partnerships Coordinator and Acting Team Leader. His background in youth work, particularly with high-risk youth, shines through as he manages large caseloads in communities like Melton and Bacchus Marsh, addressing challenges like limited transport and mental health concerns.

Dennis James, Regional Manager: Youth Services, was acknowledged for his innovative approaches to address barriers to employment and create a lasting impact on peoples lives by receiving the CoAct Innovation Award for 2024. As Youth Projects’ Workforce Australia Transition to Work regional manager, Dennis has been a catalyst for change across Western Melbourne, driving forward both the Transition to Work and Youth Specialist Disability Employment Services. His innovative partnership with our charity partner, We Are Mobilise, exemplifies creative problem-solving, using Direct Giving Programs to empower youth through financial incentives for goal achievement. Dennis's forward-thinking solutions are making a tangible impact on youth unemployment and homelessness.

These nominations and wins underscore the amazing work we’re doing across the network, driving innovation and transformation in our communities. Congratulations Celeste, Marc and Dennis for your incredible work in the sector!
